About Us N’vay Shalom (Oasis of Peace) was founded. It is the forerunner of many of today’s innovative synagogue communities. The Robbins’ wanted to create a synagogue without walls so that the resources and energies of the participants in N’vay Shalom could concentrate on the content of Jewish experience . And like our ancestors who traveled the desert, we meet in multiple facilities meeting the needs of a diverse community here in Los Angeles. (Click here to see schedule) . |

A Transdenominational Approach - Fusion of Traditional and Progressive Judaism At N’Vay Shalom the broadest varieties of Jewish spiritual and intellectual experiences and opportunities are made available without the constraint of a movement ideology. This reflects a commitment to reaching into the depths of Jewish tradition and knowledge, revealing and experiencing it with a progressive/egalitarian approach to worship, celebration, ceremony, study, meditation and healing. The unique approach to Torah at N’vay Shalom is reflective of a respectful and loving style that encounters the text as a ‘transformational’ experience that elevates and expands the study of the text. The musical expression is also central to the life of N’vay Shalom, as is an inner-directed process through contemplation and meditation. “All of us are searching for a way to express our souls.” This Oasis provides the sustenance, the nurturance, the support and guidance each one of us has been thirsting for. It honors the mind, the body and the spirit – Ruach, Nefesh and N’shama.
